Please note that the advertised salary for this position is subject to the pending 2026/2027 national pay award. The final salary will be adjusted accordingly once this has been agreed. The successful candidate may be eligible for up to a maximum of £8,000 (including VAT) towards the cost of expenses incurred due to relocating to Ceredigion.

Following the continued expansion of the Throughage Occupational Therapy team, this new qualified OT role has been created. While this role sits primarily within the triage team, close working links with technology‑enabled care, enablement and the Penmorfa Centre for Independent Living are essential, creating exciting broad clinical opportunities for professional development.

A Senior Occupational Therapist role is also being advertised to clinically oversee the same area. The qualified and senior OT will work closely in continuing to develop innovative front‑door services in Ceredigion Council, with ongoing support from other experienced senior OTs, the team manager and social work colleagues (as part of the wider triage team).

• Implement core Occupational Therapy skills and approaches to maximise independence from point of initial service user contact or referral.
• Respond to urgent needs to gather information, assess and deliver Occupational Therapy interventions.
• Reduce risk to service users, carers and families.
• Contribute to Occupational Therapy elements of MDT evidence‑based decision making during triage.
• Support the senior OT as directed.
• Contribute to developing, delivering and supporting junior staff in provision of innovative service delivery approaches (virtual advice / information, clinics, face‑to‑face, video, technology‑enabled).

• Actively use Occupational Therapy assessment skills and approaches while working directly with service users, remotely and within their homes.
• Reduce risk and promote independence from point of first contact with social services.
• Develop productive professional relationships and in‑depth knowledge of Ceredigion’s services.
• Ensure people receive appropriate advice, information and service access in a timely manner, maximising quality, meaningful personal outcomes.
• Support unqualified staff, drive planned innovation and positive change as part of team Ceredigion.
