Clinical Audiologist

The closing date is 29 July 2026

We are looking for an enthusiastic and self‑motivated Clinical Audiologist to join our friendly and innovative countywide Audiology team. Based primarily at Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre, you will work across Worcestershire County Audiology services, including Worcester, Redditch, Evesham and a number of satellite clinics, depending on service requirements.

Worcestershire County Audiology provides a comprehensive range of adult and paediatric hearing and balance services, working closely with ENT and other specialties to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care. The service offers direct access assessments, hearing aid provision and rehabilitation, diagnostic testing and specialist audiology services for patients of all ages.

The role includes both clinic‑based and community working. You will contribute to our domiciliary service, providing audiological care to patients who are unable to attend hospital clinics, and will also support audiology provision at HMP Long Lartin, giving the postholder exposure to a varied and rewarding caseload.

We are committed to supporting professional development and offer the opportunity to work within a supportive team focused on clinical excellence, innovation and service improvement.

Applicants must hold a BSc (Hons) Audiology or equivalent qualification and be AHCS or HCPC registered. The ability to travel independently between sites is essential.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will provide a wide range of adult audiology services, including hearing assessment, hearing aid fitting and rehabilitation, follow‑up care and direct referral audiology pathways. Working as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care while supporting the service to meet key waiting time and access targets.

The role offers a varied caseload across hospital, community and outreach settings. In addition to clinic‑based work, you will participate in our domiciliary service, providing care to patients who are unable to attend hospital appointments, and support the delivery of audiology services at HMP Long Lartin. There will also be opportunities to develop skills in paediatric audiology and gain experience across a broader range of specialist services.

We are a forward‑thinking department committed to continuous improvement and quality. The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to service development projects, quality improvement initiatives and our ongoing IQIPS accreditation journey, helping to shape and improve audiology services across Worcestershire.

Job responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive range of adult audiology services, including hearing assessments, hearing aid fitting and verification, rehabilitation, after‑care, repairs and patient counselling. The role also includes direct referral audiology pathways and close working with ENT colleagues to support timely diagnosis and management of hearing‑related conditions.

You will undertake diagnostic audiological assessments using a range of techniques including pure tone audiometry, tympanometry, otoacoustic emissions and hearing aid verification measures. The postholder will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing appropriate management plans and maintaining accurate clinical records in line with professional and Trust standards.

Although the role is primarily focused on adult audiology, there will be opportunities to develop skills in paediatric audiology, including behavioural hearing assessments and hearing aid management for children and young people.

The role includes participation in our domiciliary service, providing hearing assessments and hearing aid support for patients who are unable to attend hospital clinics.
