Mental Health Liaison Nurse; Adult

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Liaison Nurse within NHS Fife Health and Social Care Partnership.

Based in Central Fife, the Mental Health Liaison Nurse provides support to patients within the Adult Acute Service and works closely with the Liaison Psychiatrist attached to the service. Referrals are predominantly from the inpatient areas at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.

• Respond to an ever-changing and demanding working environment, delivering safe effective patient-focused care to individuals experiencing mental health and/or related physical health difficulties.
• Exercise initiative and autonomy to anticipate and respond to the unpredictability of referrals and the complex demands they present.
• Provide learning opportunities for peers, student nurses, medical students, and other health care professionals.
• Manage workload and perform assessment, care planning and evaluation of patients presenting with a variety of mental health problems in an acute setting.
• Partner with a range of stakeholders, including NHS Fife staff and external collaborators.

• Experienced RMN with enhanced skills, knowledge and experience of working with adults across the full age range presenting with a range of mental health problems.
• Evidence of team working, problem solving, flexibility, high-level communication skills, continuing personal development and change management.
• Experience in delivering safe and effective care within an acute mental health setting.

• Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
• Valid right to work in the United Kingdom, including visa, settled or pre-settled status, or eligibility for sponsorship.
