Radiographer Job summary
Hours - Full-time 7-day service pattern with flexible hours
Main duties of the job- Perform a range of routine MRI examinations
- Ensure high image quality and a compassionate patient experience
- Administer contrast according to protocols and PGDs
- Work collaboratively with senior colleagues across MRI services
- Contribute to safe and efficient workflows
- Participate in CPD, audit and quality initiatives
- Undertake a wide variety MRI, CT and Xrays
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures, explain the procedure and ensure that the patient is comfortable and properly positioned.
- Ensure all referrals are justified and provide advice on protocols, if required
- Ensure consistently high-quality images are produced.
- Assess images for quality and clinical significance and escalates urgent findings as necessary.
- Administer contrast media in line with PGD guidance, SOPs & protocols.
- Remain responsible for own clinical areas with regards to linen change and cleanliness.
- Maintain the highest standards of both practical work and patient care at all times, including patient privacy and dignity. Provide support and reassurance to patients and families.
- Maintain own personal continual professional development and a professional portfolio in line with HCPC & CoR recommendations and requirements.
- Carry out responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, to have knowledge of supporting policies and safety and to undertake the appropriate level of training for your role.
- BSC in Radiography or equivalent
- IV Cannulation skills
- HCPC Registered
- Must have 1 year UK experience
- Evidence of CPD
- Flexible approach
- Excellent and professional communication skills
- Able to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Good organisational skills
- Must have 1 year UK experience
