Job summary Exciting opportunities have arisen for a proactive, dynamic and inspiring band 5 Physiotherapist to join the South Somerset Community Rehab Team based in South Petherton and Crewkerne hospitals. If you are an enthusiastic Physiotherapist who wants to work as part of a community rehabilitation service to promote independence and help people to rehabilitate and recover in their own environment we would love to hear from you.

Main

duties of the job
  • Provide a high standard of Physiotherapy within the CRS services.
  • Participate in the development of the CRS Service in the community and within the Community hospital bedded environments.
  • Provide advice regarding the rehabilitation management of patients to families, carers and other members of the MDT.
  • Provide support, guidance and training to Senior Rehabilitation assistants, Rehabilitation Assistants, and students.
  • Responsible for a varied caseload of patients optimising their physical and emotional wellbeing through a preventative and empowering approach.

Job responsibilities

Maintains good communication, liaison and working arrangements with other Trust teams, Trusts and external agencies. Uses communication tools (verbal and non‑verbal) to gain valid informed consent with patients where there will often be barriers to effective communication such as loss of hearing, altered perception, expressive and receptive dysphasia, pain or fear. Works within a legal framework and competently handles patients who lack capacity to consent to treatment.

Specification Qualifications
  • Essential Degree, Diploma, Masters in Physiotherapy
  • Essential Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio
  • Desirable Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Desirable Experience in an NHS community hospital or community setting at undergraduate or postgraduate level.
