Learning Support Worker
To assist in the management and education of children and young people with additional support needs (ASN). A Learning Support Worker may be asked to work with any child or group of children either within a department or within a mainstream class and may be instructed by any teacher within a school. Work around an individual child may be based on an individualised education programme, which is followed by all staff and may involve working with professionals and therapists such as a speech therapist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist and child psychologist.

Permanent part‑time (30.0 hours per week; 39 weeks per year plus 6.24 weeks pro rata paid holiday). - Integrated Distant Islands Allowance of £1.5523 per hour, included in salary/rate of pay.
- Either a qualified or unqualified Learning Support Worker may be employed; the selection process will determine the level and duties.
- Preferred candidates will need to be registered with the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme or undergo an update before a formal offer.
- No UK visa sponsorship available; applicants must not require sponsorship.
- Relocation package does not apply.
- Interview expenses will be paid within Shetland.
- Flexible working arrangements are available.
