Aspen Court Nursing and Dementia Care Home is a modern, purpose built care home located on the peaceful northern outskirts of Taunton, Somerset. The home provides specialist Nursing, Dementia and Complex Care for up to 42 residents in a safe and supportive environment focused on dignity, wellbeing and person centred care.
Activities Coordinator Contract £12.71 per hour
37.5 hours per week
Shift times: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (30 minute unpaid break)
Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided
5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)
Role Overview
As an Activities Coordinator, you will play a key role in enhancing daily life within a specialist complex care setting, supporting individuals with a range of complex physical and mental health needs.
You will plan and deliver engaging, meaningful and person centred activities that promote wellbeing, independence and social interaction. Activities will be tailored to individual interests, abilities and care needs, including those who may require a more structured or sensitive approach to engagement.
Building positive relationships is essential, helping you understand individual preferences, behaviours and communication styles to support inclusive participation. You will create a calm, supportive and stimulating environment where individuals feel valued, confident and connected.
Working closely with the wider team, you will contribute to a consistent and supportive environment, adapting activities where required and responding appropriately to changes in mood, behaviour or wellbeing.
What We Are Looking For A creative, organised and enthusiastic approach
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to plan and deliver engaging, person centred activities
A genuine interest in supporting individuals with complex needs
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Previous experience in activities or a similar role is beneficial, however candidates with transferable skills from roles such as hospitality, events, childcare or community work are encouraged to apply
