This is a fixed term band 6 Integrated Midwife post for Cowal Community Hospital for maternity leave cover until March 2027. The post holder will provide direct antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care to women and their families within the Cowal locality.

You will be responsible for supporting women in their choice of place of birth and provide care under a community midwifery model. The midwife will practice autonomously and will be supported by the consultants from Greater Glasgow and Clyde. There is an on call requirement to this post in order to provide maternity care to women during the out of hours period of  and to be able to respond to obstetric emergencies with the support from their 2nd oncall midwife and GP support via Accident and Emergency.

The Cowal Community Midwifery Team is a small team who are committed to providing an excellent service to the patients within the locality. Training is provided and there is a Service level Agreement with GG&C for any ongoing training and development. A driving licence is essential for this post.
