Flexible contracted hours- full time, part time, and night shifts available, across a 7 days a week rota.
About the service-
Set in the beautiful Constable country of south Suffolk, Brett Vale Care Home is a Grade 2 listed barn conversion with a CQC rating of good. Brett Vale is home to 10 of our people with a learning disability.
Set in extensive grounds the home provides peace, quiet, and beautiful scenery. We support our people to make the most of their environment whether it be walking in the surrounding countryside, playing in the games room, doing crafts in the art room, or soaking in the hot tub. Whilst we may be in the countryside, we make sure we get out and about, making the most of being only 5 miles from Hadleigh, with Ipswich and Colchester a short drive away.
Brett Vale has a comfortable homely feel where we aspire to provide outstanding person-centred care. You will join a positive and dedicated staff team who promote respect, care, and dignity for our people.
About the role-
As a support worker you will develop positive working relationships with the people you support. You will uphold the highest standards of care, helping people to stay safe and healthy, encourage their independence and dignity, and ensure they are living the best quality of life possible.
Key responsibilities will include-
Supporting our people to engage in social activities as well as support interests and hobbies at home and in the community.
Help our people identify goals and aspirations and help them achieve these
Support and develop contact with family and friends.
Use effective and sensitive communication to encourage independence and personal choice.
Provide support with personal care and other daily living tasks.
Assist with attending various appointments as necessary.
Provide positive behavioural support to help when our people might become distressed.
Ensure good completion of a range of records related to the support you provide.
Work flexibly to ensure our people get the support they need when they need it.
