Job summaryWe currently have an opportunity for a Band 2, Phlebotomist to join our caring and committed Outpatient Dept at Buxton Hospital and Cavendish Hospital, Buxton, Derbyshire.
The post holder must have access to their own means of transport and be able to meet the travel requirements of the post.
You will be part of a team which provides person centred, individualised care and the successful candidate will be a good communicator who believes that the patient experience is central to the care they deliver.
We are looking for an individual who is flexible, reliable, dynamic in outlook, with a keen sense of team working and eager to learn new skills. You will work as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team and be supported in your professional development.
Personal and professional growth is actively supported, and although previous experience is desirable, training for the right candidate will be available.

Main duties of the job KEY PURPOSE/SUMMARY- To work proactively as part of a small team of phlebotomists in Buxton in an established service
- To participate in the work of the Community Phlebotomy clinics and the GP Practices
- To participate in the evolving and changing needs of patients in the local practice population
- To regularly work without supervision for periods of time during the working day
- At all times to behave and conduct themselves in a manner that reflects the 'DCHS way'
Our purpose is to provide community health services to a patient population of over one million people in Derbyshire and Derby, as part of Joined Up Care Derbyshire.
We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people's own homes and via virtual consultations.
