Job SummaryMedicines Management and Pharmacy Services (MMPS) at the Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT) have an opportunity for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join its highly regarded Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) team.
The Post Holder’s Main Responsibilities Include- Leading the development and on-going delivery of the QC service for Microbiology, Temperature Monitoring/Control and Gas Testing.
- Contributing to the co-ordination and operational management of the overall QC service.
- Driving improvement and innovation of the QC service.
- Ensuring compliance with GMP and regulatory standards.
- Providing specialist advice across all areas of preparative services, the wider MMPS and external customers.
- Planning and management of projects to support continuous improvement within the QC Service.
- Planning validation strategies and activities.
- Lead on specialist staff training and staff development
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with significant experience in quality control and pharmaceutical/aseptic services who is passionate about patient safety, service excellence and continuous improvement. The post is full time, Monday-Friday. There will also be some Bank Holiday and weekend commitments. The department aims to support flexible working arrangements and part-time hours will be considered.

The QA/QC team has been instrumental in supporting the LTHT Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit in developing an industry leading service, producing ready to administer injectable medicines.

What You Will Bring ToThe Role
You will be an experienced and motivated quality professional with specialist knowledge of Pharmaceutical QC Services. Ideally, you will have extensive experience working within Microbiology and Medical Gas Testing. Experience in Cleanroom Testing or Temperature monitoring would also be beneficial in this role.
Using your specialist knowledge and expertise, you will provide expert advice and coordinate quality control activities across licensed and unlicensed preparation areas, ensuring high‑risk medicines are prepared to the highest standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
