Senior Care Assistant

This senior care assistant post sits at Birchmere House care home, run by Avery Healthcare Group. The work centres on high-standard personal care and keeping each resident's wellbeing and care plan under review, including monthly evaluations and medication support. The role also covers supervising and developing care staff and acting as the main contact for relatives, visitors and health and social care professionals.

Applicants need an NVQ 3 in care for care homes, two years' experience in a similar setting, and a DBS check.

• Deliver high standards of personal care in a safe, caring and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff
• Monitor each resident's wellbeing and act on changes affecting their care
• Update care plans and written records when needs change
• Take part in person-centred care planning, implementing and monitoring plans and carrying out monthly evaluations
• Support residents with their medication
• Carry out staff supervisions and support staff development
• Act as the key contact for residents, relatives, visitors and health and social care professionals
• Act on reasonable requests and escalated concerns or complaints

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes

• Two years' experience in a similar care environment

• Effective verbal and written communication
• Positive attitude to supporting and nurturing residents and staff
• Responsive and flexible across a range of responsibilities

• DBS check
• Proof of eligibility to work in the UK
