Bank Phlebotomist

This bank phlebotomist post sits at Park Surgery, where Operose Health runs primary care, and works to bank hours. The work centres on drawing blood for testing, labelling samples accurately, preparing equipment and keeping patient records up to date, while supporting the clinical team. Much of the caseload is patients with long-term conditions such as diabetes, so hands-on phlebotomy experience is required.

Primary care experience is also essential.

• Collect blood samples for testing
• Prepare and assemble phlebotomy equipment, including tourniquets, needles, gauze and needle disposal containers
• Label blood samples accurately
• Update and maintain patient medical records
• Assist with patient care and support clinical and nurse lead colleagues
• Support the practice with duties related to CQC outcomes and maintaining compliance

• Phlebotomy experience
• Experience in a primary care setting

• Working within processes and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and data security
• Adapting to changing priorities
• Being personable, polite and patient with patients
• Using own judgement and keeping to professional boundaries
• Basic PC skills in Word, Excel and email
