Care Assistant

This Care Assistant post sits at Amarna House Care Home, one of Avery Healthcare Group's homes for older residents. The work centres on personal care, including hygiene support that protects residents' dignity and independence, and on spotting early signs of risk such as weight loss, pressure sores or infection and escalating them. No prior experience is needed, as the role comes with induction and training.

Applicants must pass a DBS check and prove their right to work in the UK.

• Deliver high standards of personal care and contribute to the care team to ensure continuity of services
• Assist residents with all personal hygiene care, preserving their independence and dignity
• Recognise and understand clinical risk areas such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls and signs of infection
• Escalate identified risks in a timely manner
• Act courteously towards residents and their visitors, respecting each resident's individuality
• Practise safe systems of work across the range of tasks

• Effective verbal and written communication
• Initiative and respectful conduct towards residents and others in the home
• Ability to carry out reasonable instructions from team members
• Adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice
