What difference will you make?
Having a dedicated volunteer recruiter will help existing members of the management team to focus on other roles and tasks, while still assisting in reviewing applications and interviewing. We will be able to improve the number of applications we get for each role, and select the best candidate, ensuring that the Safer Recruitment Procedure is followed. In time, more reading coaches coming forward and a smooth recruitment process will mean we are able to teach more adults to read.
The longevity of the group will be assured by successful volunteer recruitment.
We are looking for someone who can spend a few hours each week as our Volunteer Recruiter - ensuring we are publicising vacancies, and handling applications.
Qualifications:
- Recruitment and interviewing experience
- Experience working independently, but also as part of a team with the Publicity Organiser and the rest of the team

What will you be doing?- Research ways to source volunteers for 'Management Team' vacancies and for Reading Coaches
- Post vacancies and work with the Publicity Organiser on advertising
- Manage volunteer recruitment from responding to applications through to interviewing applicants (with other members of the team) and following up references
- Follow Read Easy's Safer Recruitment Procedure and adhere to the Data Protection Policy
The Volunteer Recruiter will also be part of the 'Management Team' running our local group, and involved in decision-making. Must be prepared to work within the guidelines of Read Easy UK, with whom we are affiliated.
