Data Analyst, Data Science Manager
Hays are working with a client to provide capacity in the short term for a Head of Data and Analytics, within a newly formed Directorate.
Expected duration is approximately 4 months.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead the initial stage of a data transformation journey. We are looking for an exceptional individual that combines strong technical expertise with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
The interim post holder will develop a detailed picture of the current state of data and analytics across the organisation and develop a set of proposals for consideration by the Corporate Leadership Team.
The work of the post holder will enable our client to maintain momentum on critical work that will shape longer-term plans and set us up for success. You will have a transparent, inclusive and strengths-based approach.
You will work collaboratively with stakeholders across the organisation to:
- Develop and facilitate a Data Maturity Assessment across the company.
- Map existing data capacity and capability across the organisation
- Map current data projects and how they interrelate
- Understand the opportunities presented by existing "single view" projects
Expected outputs:
- Produce a clear analysis and prioritised options appraisal for Corporate Leadership Team consideration, including a high-level programme plan for delivery over the medium term
- Produce an analysis of the current workforce vs future workforce skills needs relating to data, based on the maturity assessment and mapping
Essential criteria:
- Experience of gathering and synthesising requirements from a large range of stakeholders and from multiple sources, to develop clear, evidenced, business cases
- Experience in leading data / digital transformation and improving data maturity within a complex organisation
- Able to quickly get to grips with a range of technology / projects and understand interdependencies
- Able to simplify complex material for a range of audiences, with good interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Able to quickly build effective, credible working relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
- Able to focus sharply on crucial issues, prioritise effectively and ensure quality, timely delivery of agreed outputs
- Able to use influencing, persuading and negotiation skills to drive engagement
