The Professional Services Department is an integral part of the business. We are looking for an experienced consultant to work on a full-time basis within the Professional Services Department, supporting the operational needs of the business.
Role DescriptionAs a Professional Services Engineer at Akita, you will play a key role in delivering technical projects with a strong focus on Microsoft Modern Work and Cloud solutions, while also supporting wider MSP engineering activities where required.
You will work within the Professional Services Department, taking direction from the Technical Team Lead and Project Delivery Managers, and collaborating closely with support, sales, and account management teams. The role requires a blend of project delivery expertise, hands‑on technical capability, and excellent customer communication.
This position is ideal for an engineer who enjoys structured project work but remains comfortable operating in a traditional MSP environment when needed.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and consult on Microsoft Modern Work solutions, with a strong focus on:
- Microsoft 365 SharePoint implementation (solution design, configuration, migration and development).
- Microsoft Entra (Azure AD), Conditional Access, MFA, and cloud security control implementation.
- Microsoft Endpoint Security and AV installation.
- Deliver multiple concurrent technical projects to agreed scope, timescales, and quality standards.
- Act as a technical lead on project work streams, delivering complex solutions and transitioning projects into BAU support.
- Work independently or as part of a project team, remotely and at client sites, using a structured and methodical approach.
- Advise clients on best‑practice use of SharePoint and where required Power Apps, translating business requirements into effective solutions.
- Develop specialist expertise in defined Modern Work and Cloud Security solutions aligned with business needs.
- Provide engineering and escalation support to our Support Services team within the MSP environment when required.
- Maintain strong working knowledge across core MSP technologies, including Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, endpoint management (Intune), and backup/DR solutions.
- Produce clear technical documentation for projects, handovers, and client‑facing deliverables.
- Contribute to standardised deployment templates and Akita’s solutions portfolio.
- Support pre‑sales activity by assisting our solutions consultants with solution design, scoping, and project quotations.
- Deliver a professional, consultative customer experience, making informed technical recommendations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and adhere to project and engineering best practices.
- Undertake additional duties in line with business needs.
- Proven experience working in an MSP environment is crucial.
- Strong experience delivering Microsoft Modern Work solutions, including SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with cloud security concepts and Microsoft security tooling.
- Solid understanding of core Microsoft infrastructure technologies.
- Experience working on structured technical projects with defined deliverables.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence (or ability to travel to client sites as required).
- Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate in production environments.
- Microsoft certifications (e.g. MS-102, SC-300, SC-200, PL-100/200).
- Experience transitioning project work into BAU support environments.
- Familiarity with ITIL or structured service delivery frameworks.

They should be proactive and self‑motivated, demonstrating initiative and collaboration within cross‑functional teams, while maintaining meticulous attention to detail to ensure high‑quality deliverables and thorough documentation.

Competitive, dependent on qualifications and skills - Contract type:
Permanent - Hours:
37.5 working hours per week plus 1 hour unpaid meal break each day. - Working hours:
08:45 - 17:15 - Holiday entitlement: 24 days, rising to 30 days subject to terms after 3 years’ continuous service (plus 8 bank holidays)
- Sick pay:
Contractual sick pay commences after 6 months
