Role Details
Role 1:
Full Time, Permanent – Night Shift
Working a 4 on, 4 off night shift pattern. 19:30-07:30, 11 hours, 1 hour unpaid break. Includes weekends and bank holidays. Night time enhancement between 22:00-06:00 on top of salary.
Role 2:
Full Time, Permanent – Day Shift
Working a 2,2,3 shift pattern. 07:30-19:30. Week 1:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday. Week 2:
Wednesday & Thursday. Includes weekends and bank holidays.
Work in a dynamic control room environment in the centre of Bristol, delivering solution‑oriented customer service to support a wide range of council services that keep the city moving and vulnerable residents safe 24/7.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to Telecare alarm activations and talk to vulnerable clients to reassure them, understand the reason for activation and arrange an appropriate response, including alerting families, carers or calling for emergency medical assistance.
- Manage out‑of‑hours calls to the council and dispatch emergency housing repair teams to council tenants with urgent problems, and deliver concierge services.
- Monitor lone working, security and intruder alarms for a range of services and buildings and take appropriate actions following an alarm activation.
- Support the smooth running of traffic in the city by monitoring bus lanes, car parks and taxi ranks.
- Monitor CCTV and radio systems to support the delivery of community safety and crime‑reduction initiatives and a safe night‑time economy.
- Coordinate the response to emergencies and incidents that may occur.
Successful candidates must pass Police vetting (NPPV2) and an Enhanced DBS Check.
