TSR Legal is delighted to be working with a well-established and highly regarded law firm for a Legal Secretary to join its busy Litigation team in Swindon.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and organised legal professional who enjoys working in a fast‑paced environment, delivering exceptional client service, and providing first‑class administrative support to a successful litigation team.
The RoleSupporting the Head of Litigation and wider department, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of the team by providing high‑quality secretarial and administrative support.
Key responsibilities include:- Managing fee earners' diaries and appointments
- Preparing files for billing and closure
- Opening and maintaining client files using the firm's case management system
- Preparing correspondence through digital dictation and transcription
- Drafting and formatting legal documents and client correspondence
- Handling incoming telephone calls and client enquiries professionally
- Providing initial costs information and gathering information to open new matters
- Managing emails, post, filing and document organisation
- Preparing electronic court bundles
- Liaising with courts, barristers, experts and third parties
- Chasing outstanding client payments where appropriate
- Supporting lawyers with a broad range of administrative tasks
- Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with regulatory and data protection requirements
The successful candidate will have previous experience as a Legal Secretary, ideally within Litigation, together with excellent organisational and communication skills.
You will also possess:
- Previous Legal Secretary experience (essential)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- The ability to prioritise a varied workload and work to deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A professional and confident approach to client care
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- A flexible and positive attitude
A Legal Secretary Level 2 Certificate or Diploma would be advantageous but is not essential.
