This role within the Microchip Component Operations team (our Global Supply Chain) will provide the successful candidate with valuable experience and growth potential. Reporting into the Materials Manager, the objective of our Supply Chain Team is to establish, maintain/ improve supply continuity, quality and cost as it relates to products and services. (Key Measurements: Inventory, On-time delivery, Quality & Cost) This role will be based at our manufacturing site in Caldicot, South Wales.
It is a site based position.
- Processes purchase requisitions, purchase change orders and requests for quotes to suppliers
- Reviews PO variances to the plan; past due and aged unconfirmed orders providing resolution with the supply base
- Participates in maximizing the procurement team's changes, part parameters; quote table maintenance, supplier database information, error report analysis, and part number/supplier code information
- Recommend cost saving proposals including alternative sourcing with approval of team
- Works closely with Engineers & Strategic Sourcing Managers to support all procurement and vendor negotiations on lead-time and cost
- Process Returns to Vendor (RTV) for procured products and drive continual improvement with Supplier Quality team
- Manage and maintain item master/organization attributes for assigned products
- Resolves accounts payable/receivable discrepancies for any/items assigned
- Resolves delivery/receiving discrepancies for any/all items assigned
- Remains current on economic, industrial and other trends that affect market and prices
- Supports ERP integration activities and assists Project Manager with implementations
- Participates in New Product Introduction (NPI) teams to represent Component Ops in the early stages of the development process
- Bachelor's degree in Business/Supply Chain
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proven planning, organizational and communication skills
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (specifically Excel)
- Demonstrates analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
