About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and highly organised Stores Manager to join our team in Willand. This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded individual to lead a busy stores and procurement function within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
This role is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end procurement and stores process, ensuring the timely sourcing, purchasing, receipt and management of a wide range of goods and services required across the site. Categories include ingredients, packaging, food packaging and indirect supplies such as PPE, printers and general operational consumables.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the Stores team, including the Stores Section Leader and 2 x Planners
- Oversee the procurement process from raising purchase orders through to goods receipt and invoice reconciliation
- Ensure the efficient supply of materials, ingredients, packaging and indirect goods required for site operations
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure quality, service and cost objectives are met
- Support internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with company procedures and standards.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who enjoys working collaboratively and taking ownership of key operational processes.
You may come from a procurement, supply chain, stores or logistics background and will have a strong understanding of purchasing and supplier management principles. While experience within food manufacturing would be advantageous, we are open to candidates from a variety of sectors.
Most importantly, you will be a confident communicator with strong excel skills and the ability to lead a team effectively.
Key Skills- Previous people management or supervisory experience
- Procurement, purchasing, stores or supply chain experience
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with data
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- High attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
