Buying Administrator
Location:
Coventry
Salary: £25,500 - £28,000
A Buying Administrator is required to support procurement activities and help ensure appropriate stock levels are maintained across the company's manufacturing operation. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the role is focused on the timely purchasing of goods, supplier management, stock monitoring, and resolving procurement-related issues. This position would suit an organised and proactive individual with strong administrative and relationship-building skills who enjoys balancing purchasing responsibilities with stock control and supplier coordination.
As Buying Administrator You Will:
Process purchase requests through the purchasing system and raise purchase orders as required.
Source and liaise with suppliers, ensuring products meet required specifications.
Select appropriate suppliers and manage the purchasing process through to completion.
Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Resolve supplier and customer-related issues in a professional and timely manner.
Monitor stock levels of stationery, PPE, factory consumables, cleaning products, and welfare supplies.
Conduct regular stock checks and utilise forecasts and stock management records to identify future requirements.
Support the resolution of invoice queries and maintain accurate purchasing records.
Experience
Required:
Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, buying, or stock control administration role.
Strong administrative and organisational skills.
Experience raising purchase orders and managing supplier communications.
Ability to monitor stock levels and maintain accurate records.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve supplier and invoice queries.
Effective communication skills for working with internal and external stakeholders.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
Desirable:
Experience with in a manufacturing, production, logistics, or industrial environment.
Knowledge of inventory management processes and stock forecasting.
Experience using purchasing or procurement software systems.
Understanding of PPE, consumables, or operational inventory purchasing.
Additional Information:
Reports to the Procurement Manager.
Works closely with Stock Control, Finance, Logistics, and purchasing system users.
Daily monitoring of stock levels within production and yard areas.
Responsible for maintaining excellent supplier and stakeholder relationships.
Involvement in housekeeping activities to maintain a clean and safe office and yard environment.
