The Purchaser at Season Harvest will manage day-to-day procurement of fresh produce, dairy, and food service products to meet operational and customer needs. This full-time, on-site role is based in Claudy and involves sourcing products, maintaining supplier relationships, negotiating pricing and terms, and placing timely orders to ensure consistent stock levels. The Purchaser will monitor inventory, review sales patterns, and coordinate with warehouse and sales teams to align purchasing with demand.

The role also includes checking quality on arrival, resolving delivery or supply issues, updating purchasing records, and supporting continuous improvement of sourcing practices. Collaboration with management to identify new suppliers and optimize costs while maintaining quality standards is an important part of the position.

• Strong procurement and negotiation skills, with experience managing supplier relationships and purchasing in a food, retail, or wholesale environment.
• Knowledge of fresh produce, dairy, or food service products, including basic understanding of quality standards, shelf life, and seasonal availability.
• Competence in inventory management, record keeping, and using basic computer systems or ERP tools for ordering and stock control.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple orders, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with suppliers, warehouse staff, sales teams, and management.
• Numeracy skills for handling pricing, margins, and cost comparisons, and comfort working with spreadsheets or similar tools.
• Previous experience in purchasing, supply chain, or logistics is preferred; experience in fresh produce or food service is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Claudy, including occasional early starts or flexible hours as required by deliveries and supplier schedules.
