Sub Contract Planner

Location: Church Stretton

We are looking for a Sub Contract Planner to join our team at our Appleton site on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity to join a fast-paced transport operation, playing a key role in planning and managing subcontracted transport services while ensuring excellent service delivery.
Salary:
Up to £33,000 per annum

Working hours:

Monday to Friday,
Key Duties of a Sub Contract Planner:
Plan and allocate set lanes to hauliers.
Rate jobs on GTS and ensure haulier costs are correct.
Advertise work on TWS system.
Arrange live loads for hauliers.
Complete jobs on GTS to allow for Stobart invoicing.
Implement subcontract strategy based on forecasted volumes.
Manage haulier issues and communicate these to Stobart departments such as CS, central and planning.
Update hauliers documents to ensure 100% legal compliance.
Report POD discrepancies and returns that may arise to reduce the company's liability of losses.
Take on additional work from 3 rd  party hauliers to reduce empty running on Stobart Fleet.
Support Central Team as required.

Job requirements

Previous experience within a similar role.
Knowledge of the Logistics and Transport industry.
Knowledge of GTS is desirable.
Demonstrable planning and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communicator, with a strong knowledge of Microsoft systems.
Able to work under pressure and collaborating with a range of departments across the business, from Planning through to Forecasting.
IT Literate including Microsoft word, excel and outlook.
