Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Street Cleansing Operative to join our team. You will play an important role in keeping public spaces clean, safe, and looking good for the local community.
Responsibilities- Carry out manual street cleansing, including sweeping, litter picking, and removal of debris.
- Empty public litter and dog waste bins.
- Assist with the removal of fly-tipped waste where required.
- Ensure town centres, highways, footpaths, and public spaces remain clean and tidy.
- Operate tools and equipment safely (e.g., barrows, litter pickers, blowers).
- Report issues such as graffiti, damaged bins, or hazardous waste.
- Work independently or as part of a small team to meet daily service standards.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Good level of physical fitness.
- Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a clean community.
- Ability to follow instructions and work to set routes/schedules.
- Experience in a cleansing or grounds maintenance role is beneficial but not essential.
