Domestic Assistant

Based on 4 hours per day (Monday to Friday, hours to be agreed - either 6-10am, 7-11am or 2-6pm), 39 weeks per year (term time + INSET days), paid annual leave

Salary will be £11,997 to £12,180

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Domestic Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and organisation within various environments. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a commitment to providing a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive cleaning tasks in designated areas, ensuring all surfaces are sanitised and free from dirt and debris.
• Carry out routine cleaning duties such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and restroom sanitation.
• Ensuring that all cleaning materials are stored correctly.
• Follow health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
• Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel promptly.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.

Experience

• Previous experience in commercial cleaning or within a school or hospital environment is highly desirable.
• A strong understanding of cleaning products, techniques, and equipment is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
• A proactive attitude towards maintaining cleanliness standards and a commitment to continuous improvement in service delivery.

Job Purpose / Focus

To assist as required in the daily food preparation ensuring that the school policy on quality and standards is met and to be aware of current national legislation regarding nutritional standards in schools.

To also assist with the clearing and cleaning of all crockery, cutlery and equipment used in the preparation and presentation of food ensuring that the school policy on health and hygiene is met and to be aware of current national legislation regarding health and safety.
