Kitchen Assistant

The role of the Cook is to prepare and serve healthy balances meals to residents in our homes. You will oversee weekly budgets and shopping lists. On occasion you will work alongside other staff or residents in the kitchen making sure everyone’s safety is paramount.

• Dietary requirements:
  Follow instructions for allergies, special diets, cultural or religious requirements, and texture-modified meals.
• Food hygiene:
  Follow food safety procedures, including handwashing, safe food storage, cleaning surfaces, and preventing cross-contamination.
• Kitchen cleaning:
  Wash dishes and utensils, clean worktops and equipment, empty bins, and keep the kitchen organised.
• Stock control:
  Check food supplies, report shortages, and help store deliveries correctly.
• Health and safety:
  Use kitchen equipment safely and report hazards, accidents, or faulty equipment.
• Following policies:
  Follow the organisation's procedures relating to safeguarding, confidentiality, infection control, food safety, and health and safety.
