Facilities Assistant

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust needs a Facilities Assistant at The Hellingly Centre to keep the site clean and help prepare patient meals. The work covers environmental cleaning across the building, food handling for the daily meal service, and strict infection prevention and control. The post is full-time at 37.5 hours over five mornings from 07:00, and suits someone who can work unsupervised as well as in a team.

Candidates need functional skills in maths and English; full training is provided.

• Vacuum and damp mop floors
• Damp dust furniture and fittings
• Clean mirrors and internal glass
• Clean sanitary ware such as baths, showers, sinks and toilets
• Wash tiled surfaces and paintwork
• High dust walls and ceilings
• Handle food to support the daily patient meal service
• Prepare meals for service to food safety standards
• Follow infection prevention and control standards at all times
• Deliver high standards of environmental cleaning
