DescriptionOCU is seeking an experienced and highly motivated HV/AIS Operations Manager to join our growing team based in Neath. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and coordinating all operational activities across the business, ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of our services within large substation projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesIn this pivotal role, you will:
- Oversee production, logistics, facilities management, and resource allocation, ensuring efficient, safe, and high‑quality delivery of services.
- Develop and implement operational strategies.
- Monitor performance through KPIs.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and excellence.
To be successful in this role, you will be a confident and proactive leader with a proven track record of delivering operational success up to 100 kW substation projects within a fast‑paced environment. You will possess excellent organisational, communication, and problem‑solving skills, and the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands‑on operational management.
- Proven experience in an Operations Manager or Senior HV Operational leadership role.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing high‑performing teams.
- Excellent analytical, planning, and decision‑making capabilities.
- Demonstrable experience in process improvement and operational optimisation.
- Strong commercial awareness and resource management experience.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and operational management systems.
- Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or similar methodologies would be highly advantageous.
- Experience with in the utilities, power, engineering, construction, infrastructure is essential.
