Job Description & How to Apply Below
* Registered Children’s Home Manager
* * Hatch Beauchamp, Somerset
* * Full-time, Permanent
* *£49,506 - £55,006 per annum (dependent on experience)
* This is a unique opportunity to lead a small, 3-bed home currently supporting one young person. The setting offers the space to deliver highly individualised, relationship-led care while shaping the future direction, culture, and quality of the home.
The young person is a creative and thoughtful teenager who is learning to trust the world around her. She enjoys jewellery-making, arts and crafts, sewing, baking, and meaningful experiences such as theme parks, escape rooms, long walks at Ham Hill, and watching the sunset.
Some days she’s full of energy and conversation. Other days, she needs calm, quiet connection — someone who can simply sit alongside her and understand.
She needs consistency, safety, and adults who can meet her where she is.
* The Opportunity
* This role offers the chance to take full leadership of a home and shape a strong, nurturing environment where both the young person and staff team can thrive.
You will bring clarity, structure, and a strong sense of practice — creating a home that is safe, stable, and aspirational in its approach.
* Who We’re Looking For
* We are looking for an experienced Registered Manager who can combine
* strong leadership with emotional intelligence*.
Someone who is:
* Warm, empathetic, and child-centred in their approach
* A confident leader, able to set clear expectations and standards
* Calm and reflective, able to respond thoughtfully under pressure
* Highly organised, with strong oversight of compliance and care quality
* Skilled at developing and motivating teams
* Attuned to the needs of young people and staff alike
* Consistent and boundaried, creating a sense of safety and predictability
* Your Role in the Home
* * Leadership & Home Development
* * Lead the day-to-day running of the home, setting clear standards and expectations
* Establish a strong, positive culture centred on consistency, accountability, and care
* Create an environment where best practice is understood, embedded, and sustained
* Drive continuous improvement across all aspects of the home
* Supporting the Young Person
* * Ensure care is highly individualised, trauma-informed, and relationship-led
* Promote emotional wellbeing and positive identity
* Create meaningful opportunities and experiences aligned with her interests
* Ensure her voice shapes her care, routines, and environment
* Team Leadership
* * Lead, coach, and develop a stable and confident staff team
* Provide clear direction, reflective supervision, and performance management
* Model high-quality practice and professional curiosity
* Build a team culture of openness, learning, and shared responsibility
* Quality & Compliance
* * Maintain strong oversight of safeguarding and risk management
* Ensure care planning and documentation reflect high standards
* Lead on audits, monitoring, and internal quality assurance
* Ensure the home operates in line with Ofsted regulations and expectations
* What You’ll Need
* * Previous experience as a Registered Manager (or strong Deputy ready to step up)
* Minimum Level 3 in Residential Childcare
* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or willingness to complete)
* Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and quality standards
* Proven ability to lead teams and embed consistent practice
* Full UK driving licence
* Flexibility to meet the needs of the home
* What We Offer
* * Comprehensive induction and ongoing leadership support
* Established partnership working with Local Authorities and NHS services
* Clear progression pathways within a growing organisation
* 28 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays)
* Life assurance & healthcare cash plan
* Employee wellbeing support
* High street discounts
* Why This Role?
* This is an opportunity to take ownership of a home at an important stage in its journey — bringing stability, strengthening practice, and creating a place where young people feel safe, valued, and understood.
If you are a leader who can bring
* structure, warmth, and clear direction*, and you’re motivated by the chance to make a meaningful and lasting impact, we would love to hear from you.
