About the role
Urenco is a global leader in the production of low‑carbon energy and a key player in the transition to a sustainable, net‑zero future. The Senior Project Manager & Programme Lead will be based at our Capenhurst site. As a Senior Project Manager they will handle high‑value, high‑complexity projects within the EGDP, and as a Programme Lead they will report to the EGDP Programme Manager, deliver to Project Owners and manage resources across the UUK Enrichment Group Development Plan.
They will develop integrated resource plans, guide junior project managers, and ensure business benefits are realised across the full project lifecycle.
- Safely deliver programme objectives compliant with Company Instructions and keep stakeholders fully informed.
- Produce consistent project and programme foresight information for the EGDP Programme Manager, demonstrating the predictability of business‑case outcomes within budget and time.
- Work with Project Managers, Engineers and Group projects to develop forward detail in the capital plan supporting the 10‑year business plan.
- Plan 12, 24 and 36‑month talent and business‑infrastructure requirements, coordinating integrated project logistics with operational business needs and identifying all risks to service delivery.
- Drive accountability of Project Managers so they manage resources, cost, schedule, interfaces, supply chain and delivery across the lifecycle from concept to hand‑over and commissioning.
- Act as the key communicator for programme delivery.
- A technical or business degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Membership of a recognised project‑management organisation.
- Experience with programme‑management methodologies for complex, multi‑disciplinary programmes in regulated environments.
- Ability to realise project objectives using Urenco processes, procedures and effective communication at senior business decision‑making level.
- Knowledge of site and construction safety legislation (CDM, CSCS, NEBOSH), security protocols, health and environmental legislation and good practice.
- Understanding of the uranium enrichment process, its risks, and the Urenco business from a technical and business perspective.
- Familiarity with relevant legislation and regulatory philosophies, safety, security, safeguards, health and environmental issues.
- Knowledge of the full nuclear licensing lifecycle, relevant codes, standards and guidance.
- Successful completion of security clearance at the level required for the role and approval of all related checks.
- Annual leave starting at 25 days, increasing one day every two years of service up to 30 days, plus 13 additional flexible days and a new scheme for buying and selling up to 5 days.
