Gap-personnel is currently recruiting for the role of Housing & Support Area Manager, in Swindon area.
You will play a key role in the support and resettlement of clients/residents, covering a wide variety of tasks that contribute to fixing broken lives. Your key tasks are to line manage, organise and coordinate the team, distribute tasks, and ensure employees are performing. You will supervise employees and distribute workloads and contribute to high levels of motivation and performance in the team.
You will work alongside the rest of the team to achieve the required outputs. You will be part of the on‑call rota.
You will work with people facing multiple and complex barriers including homelessness, mental health, substance misuse, offending behaviour and unemployment. You will work alongside partners to ensure a multi‑agency approach to support people into accommodation and support them to address the causes and consequences of their homelessness. The key focus is intensive person‑centred coaching, building on each person’s unique strengths and aspirations so they can transition of out of their situation with dignity.
You will collate appropriate monitoring data to measure and report on the success of the service.
Ideal candidate must drive their own car and have relevant experience and people’s approach.
The role is temp to perm, 12 first weeks will be completed through an agency, and will be counted as probation period.

- Experience with Microsoft Office and able to learn case management software.

- To manage the Housing and Support team (Derby) including Team Leaders, Seniors, and Officers.
- Where requested by the Line Manager, monitor employee performance and quality, and contribute to the induction of new employees.
- Assist in implementing Company policies and procedures to ensure effective service delivery.
- To take part in appropriate training of employees, as directed by the Line Manager.
- Assist in planning the deployment of employees in the team to ensure that priorities are met, and that cover is available for absence.
- To provide regular reports and monitoring as requested by the Line Manager or above, to ensure that procedural timescales are adhered to and that actions in operating plans are completed within timescales.
- To be part of the on‑call rota.
- To ensure prompt action on all void properties so that they are let as quickly as possible, within target times and to work with other departments as necessary.
- Ensure that residents apply for housing benefit and/or personal benefits, where eligible, to maximise income.
- To provide a support and resettlement service to residents, following Company policies and procedures.
- Ensure that positive support plan outcomes are consistently achieved.
- Respond to low level complaints and where appropriate seek a resolution. Keep records as required and report all matters to the Line Manager and Human Resources, particularly where escalation is required.
- To ensure appropriate and timely action to deal with any breaches of licence agreements/tenancies and other contracts.
- To work with the Income Recovery team in taking appropriate action to deal with rent and charge arrears or issues.
- Report all Maintenance and Property Standards issues as per Company policies to ensure that the appearance and health and safety of the Company’s properties are maintained to the highest standards.
