As a member of the Offshore Delivery Team, the Deputy Project Director will report directly to a Project Director and deputise for them in their absence. The successful candidate will play an important part in enabling the energy transition and supporting the Scottish and UK Governments' Net Zero ambitions. This will include managing a multi-disciplinary project team and framework supply chain partners under the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) Framework.

- Be accountable for supporting HVDC portfolio acceleration opportunities and the development and administration of HVDC portfolio Ofgem regulatory submissions, as delegated by the Project Director.

- Work closely with the Transmission Management team to uphold high standards of safety, environmental and quality performance, championing SSE's Safety and Project Golden Rules, including through site-based leadership.

- Manage a team of Project and Construction Managers, providing leadership across key aspects of project management, including schedule, contract and commercial management, risk and governance, change control and interfaces.

- Support the Project Director in the delivery of the HUB site, including refinement of project structures and resources, and the development and administration of Ofgem regulatory submissions.

You have
- Significant experience in project delivery, ideally within electricity generation, transmission or another major infrastructure environment, with experience of managing and leading large capital projects.

- Proven experience in the preparation, negotiation and execution of NEC3 contracts within a multi-contract delivery environment.

Experience of contracts valued at over 100m would be advantageous.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Experience of working with Ofgem or another regulatory body would be advantageous.

We do this by developing, building, operating and investing in electricity infrastructure and businesses needed in the energy transition. This includes…
