Polisher - Dagenham
Role Overview
On behalf of our client, an Automotive manufacturer, we are currently recruiting for a Paint Polisher to join their team in Dagenham. The Polisher role sits within the Operations & Logistics team and has primary responsibility for the rectification and polishing of commercial automotive parts to meet the highest aesthetic and quality standards.
Key Activities
- Rectifying paint on parts using machine-operated polishers and hand-polishing techniques as required.
- Preparing surfaces and rectifying paint defects such as inclusions, orange peel, or other contaminants, ensuring a flawless finish.
- Following defined processes while proactively suggesting improvements to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Performing paint thickness measurements and ensuring all finishes meet conformity requirements.
- Collaborating with the paint department to rectify issues and improve output quality.
- Taking responsibility for the quality of finished products through compliance with quality systems and standards.
- Identifying and resolving defects in a timely manner, ensuring no compromise on productivity or aesthetics.
- Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and hygiene at all times.
- Ensuring the effective supply and movement of parts/products to and from the section, monitoring stock levels and adherence to COSHH requirements.
- Completing required process documentation in line with build instructions.
- Proactively identifying potential roadblocks and presenting solutions to prevent recurrence and implement permanent corrective actions.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrable experience in correcting surface defects and contamination on painted surfaces.
- Experience using machine-operated polishers and hand-polishing to achieve exceptional finishes.
- Knowledge of paint processing, thickness measurements, and quality assurance techniques.
- Strong understanding of continuous improvement and quality improvement processes.
- Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload effectively.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a proactive and positive approach.
- A commitment to maintaining high health, safety, and environmental standards.
Package
- Salary £30,000 - £32,500
- Shift: Monday - Thursday, 14:00 - 12:00
- 25 days holiday + BH
