A long‑established manufacturing business is seeking a Production Planner to take ownership of planning activities across a busy, fast‑moving production environment.
This is a hands‑on, operationally critical role where you’ll manage orders, forecasts, materials, and schedules to ensure the right stock, at the right time, in the right quantities. You’ll work closely with production, supply chain, and engineering teams to maintain flow, prevent shortages, and support continuous improvement across the planning function.
Key Responsibilities
Process customer orders and convert demand into accurate production schedules.
Manage and interpret production forecast data to support capacity and material planning.
Run MRP to ensure material availability and highlight shortages or risks early.
Monitor inventory levels and raise purchase requirements where needed.
Collaborate with procurement, production, and engineering to resolve constraints and maintain delivery performance.
Analyse data to support decision‑making and drive improvements in planning accuracy.
Contribute to continuous improvement across planning processes, documentation, and ERP usage. About You
Experience in production planning, scheduling, or supply chain coordination within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of MRP, inventory control, and ERP systems.
Confident working with data, forecasts, and material requirements.
Organised, analytical, and able to prioritise effectively in a dynamic environment.
Clear communicator who enjoys working cross‑functionally to solve problems and keep operations moving. Qualifications
Relevant experience in production planning, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
Formal qualifications in supply chain, operations, or engineering are beneficial but not essential. For more information, please contact Cathy Swain.
