Position: Production Engineer (Permanent)
Location: Nantyglo

Further to ongoing sustained business growth, we are working closely with one of our manufacturing partners to appoint a Production Engineer to join their team.

Remit:

* This position will suit a dynamic Production Engineer with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems

* The successful Production Engineer candidate will have demonstrable experience within a fast paced manufacturing environment

Role:

* As Production Engineer you will be responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, safety and cost-effectiveness

* The role of Production Engineer bridges engineering design and production, ensuring products are manufactured as required and in line with quality standards

* The successful Production Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing and optimizing production processes and workflows

* Support production teams with technical expertise to resolve process issues

* Provide hands on engineering support to manufacturing daily operations

* Analysis of production data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks and quality issues

* Implement and drive continuous improvement projects across plant

* Develop and maintain process documentation, SOP’s and work instructions

* Support new product introductions and process validations

* Troubleshoot process, equipment and material issues in real time

* Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities without compromising quality

* Work closely with cross functional teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency

* Implement immediate process improvements along with long term improvements

Experience Requirements:

* Experience of small batch production, not continuous production lines.

* Time served toolmaking or engineering based apprenticeship an advantage (must be practical)

* Experience in jig design and manufacture

* Basic CAD and 3D printing, advantage but not essential

* Creative and innovative thinking

* 5+ years’ experience within a manufacturing environment

* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production systems

* Experience with process improvement methodologies

* Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles

* Strong problem solving skills and analytical mindset

* Effective communication and teamwork skills

* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

* Proactive, detail oriented and results driven
