WhatYou'll Do
As an Operations Technician, you'll help keep the renewable energy plant running safely, reliably and efficiently. You'll play a key role in ensuring the plant produces clean, renewable energy for the local area.
Responsibilities of the Role- Monitoring and operating plant equipment (from the Control Room and out on site).
- Carrying out routine inspections and recording key data.
- Tackling first‑line maintenance and fault fixing.
- Keeping the plant safe by following environmental and safety standards.
- Supporting fuel deliveries and other on‑site operations.
- Responding to alarms, abnormal conditions and emergency drills.
- Working closely with mechanical, electrical and fuel handling teams.
- Keeping accurate shift logs and reporting issues.
- Be part of a growing, future‑focused industry.
- Excellent training: includes control room operation, safety procedures, and plant systems.

- Shift patterns that offer work‑life balance. This role is part of a rotating shift team. Flexibility is important as they sometimes adjust shift patterns to support the Power Plant needs.
- Competitive salary of £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience and qualifications held + benefits.
You might already work in power generation, or you may come from another industry such as:
Manufacturing, Engineering, Oil & Gas, FM/Maintenance, Armed Forces, Process/Production Plant, Utilities, Transport/warehouse with technical experience.
- A technical qualification (mechanical, electrical or controls) OR equivalent hands‑on industrial experience.
- Practical experience working with machinery or process systems.
- Good understanding of safety and willingness to follow procedures.
- Strong communication skills.
- A full UK driving licence.
- Experience in a power or process plant.
- Knowledge of steam systems, boilers, turbines or similar equipment.
- Forklift/loader/crane tickets.
- Experience using a plant control system (DCS/HMI).
- Practical, hands‑on and a good problem solver.
- Enjoys working both indoors and outdoors.
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Able to stay focused during busy or changing situations.
- A strong team player who also works well independently.
- Takes pride in doing the job safely and properly.
- Reliable, proactive and eager to learn.
