Operations Manager, Operations Engineer

An excellent opportunity to start your career in Production Planning, you will be based in Carlisle & be a key member of our central planning team. You will be a central link between production, logistics and sales and ensure a coordinated approach to capacity management across all of our mills. Specifically, some responsibilities of a Central Planning Coordinator include:
- Utilise the most up to date system tools to create a production plan for respective areas that meets the requirements of customers whilst supporting the delivery of operational efficiencies.
- Manage and maintain all work in progress and finished stock levels within their area of control.
- Create and manage internal transfers of materials on a daily and weekly basis.
- Ensure operational ownership for the accuracy of production recording and transactions.
- Create and support the management of group treatment capacity.
- Co-ordination of focus stocks across mills and identification of additional resource required.
- Support the development of the forecasting process, master data controls and structure.
- Support the development and standardisation of the planning processes, developing process flows, technical information and quality documentation to support this.
- Create, manage and review the monthly forecast vs orders on a daily and weekly basis to provide accurate numbers to the planning teams.
- Liaise with the sales team and Customer Service Centre to develop the forecasting process and ensure improved accuracy.
- Develop medium to long term capacity models for work centers.
- Develop and report group CTP performance.
We are looking for a motivated individual who has the ability to deliver flexible solutions within a fast‑paced customer‑driven environment. As an experienced planner or with transferable skills, you will be willing to undertake necessary training to fulfil the role. In addition, you'll have:
- Good computer skills across all Microsoft programmes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- The ability to influence successful business outcomes and build relationships.
- A logical approach and a high level of attention to detail.
Experience in planning and using ERP systems would be advantageous. The successful candidate must have a full driving licence.
