We're looking to recruit an experienced workshop machinist to join our team at our St. Athan facility, working on a part-time basis.
The Role:
This role is responsible for manufacturing, repairing and maintaining precision tools, jigs, fixtures and components that support production operations. The role involves interpreting engineering drawings, setting up and operating manual and CNC machine tools, and ensuring components are produced to exact tolerances.
Main Responsibilities will include:
- Operate manual machining equipment such as lathes, mills, and related equipment, with precision maintaining tight tolerances and high-quality finishes.
- Competently operate precision measurement instruments and apply quality inspection techniques.
- Ensuring Health & Safety protocols are upheld and properly implemented within the machine shop environment.
- Collaborating with engineers and production teams to support continuous improvement.
- Responsible for working in accordance with the company framework, and compliance with the organisation’s policies, alongside participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests, or reputation of the Company.
Key requirements include:
- Must be eligible to live and work in the UK
- Proven aircraft experience gained over three or more years working as a Toolmaker, Precision Machinist, or similar role in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Ability to use approved aircraft documentation to perform routine maintenance, component replacement, modification embodiment.
- Capability to demonstrate detailed knowledge and experience of aircraft maintenance and aircraft systems.
- Apprenticeship and/or recognised basic training within Part 145 (or equivalent) required along with detailed structures knowledge with recognised structural repairs training
