Production Engineering Manager

Production Engineering Manager Fareham / Portsmouth Salary £55-65k About the Role This is a key leadership role within our manufacturing operation, responsible for driving production engineering performance across a busy, bespoke fabrication environment. You will be central to improving how we build complex engineered systems — focusing on efficiency, manufacturability, and continuous improvement across sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and test processes.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead and develop the production engineering function across manufacturing
• Improve workflows, routing, and shop floor efficiency in a bespoke production environment
• Drive design-for-manufacture (DFM) improvements with design engineers
• Work closely with fabrication, assembly, and test teams to resolve production issues
• Lead lean manufacturing and structured continuous improvement activity
• Identify and deliver measurable improvements in cost, quality, and lead time
• Support introduction of new products into production
• Ensure compliance with H&S and quality standards across operations About You
• Engineering background (mechanical, manufacturing, or industrial)
• Proven experience in a fabrication or engineered-to-order manufacturing environment
• Strong understanding of lean manufacturing in low/medium volume production
• Hands-on, practical engineering mindset
• Experience in sheet metal fabrication (strong advantage)
