Overview

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Manager (Melting) to lead a Melting department within a well-established manufacturing environment.

This is a key leadership role with full responsibility for departmental performance across safety, people, quality, delivery, and cost, offering the opportunity to drive operational excellence and develop a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team, driving performance, engagement, and succession planning
• Promote a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all HSE standards
• Deliver improvements in productivity, efficiency, and operational performance
• Manage quality standards, audits, and continuous improvement activities
• Collaborate with planning and supply chain teams to maintain production flow
• Control departmental budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities

About You

• Proven experience in manufacturing or process-led environments
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Experience driving safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Commercially aware with experience managing costs and performance
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma methodologies (desirable)
• Experience with in a melting, forging, casting, steel manufacturing or heat treatment (hot working) background would be highly advantageous, although other Manufacturing industries may be considered.
