Based in Loughborough, our manufacturing facility handles everything in‑house — from raw material processing to welding, fabrication, painting, and full assembly of bespoke acoustic units. Sheet Metal FabricatorKey Responsibilities
- Metal Fabrication:
Craft high‑quality metalwork products with thickness between 1mm to 10mm, including plenums, doors, manifolds, and others to exact specifications. - Welding & Assembly:
Utilise MIG welding techniques to assemble, finish, and inspect various metal products. - Design Reading:
Interpret designs, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accuracy and precision in fabrication. - Quality Assurance:
Inspect finished products for structural soundness, quality, and adherence to design requirements. - Equipment Maintenance:
Regularly inspect and maintain workshop tools and machinery to ensure smooth operation and safety. - Problem‑Solving:
Work collaboratively with designers, engineers, and fellow fabricators to troubleshoot design or fabrication challenges. - Overtime:
Enhanced pay after 38 hours of work.
- Experience:
3+ years of experience in metal fabrication, preferably in an industrial or structural setting. - Skills:
Proficient in MIG welding, metal forming, cutting, and finishing techniques. - Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of metals, welding procedures, and fabrication tools. - Attention to Detail:
Ability to produce precise, high‑quality work with minimal supervision. - Safety Focused:
Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety procedures related to fabrication and workshop environments. - Working Hours:
Static – Days 6am to 2pm, Afternoons 2pm to 10pm (15% shift allowance), Nights 10pm to 6am (30% shift allowance).
- Experience with bespoke and custom metal fabrication projects.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Positive attitude and keen interest in continuous learning and skills development.
- Passion for traditional blacksmithing and modern fabrication techniques.
- Keen to keep house‑keeping up to a high standard.
