The OpportunityIf you are seeking a Laboratory Technician role within a growing business that works across a number of industry sectors, this could be the opportunity you seek. You will be required to work a 3‑shift rotation (6am‑2pm / 2pm‑10pm / 10pm‑6am) which will reward you with a 15% uplift on the basic salary.
The Role- Analysis of alloy samples by instrumental techniques using combustion, optical emission, and X‑ray fluorescence. Samples include preliminary melt samples, certification samples, and remelt samples from casting plants and external customers.
- Preparation of samples for analysis.
- Routine maintenance and standardisation of laboratory equipment.
- Inputting results into the company database.
- Calculating bath additions during heat manufacture.
- A science background with strong mathematical and computer skills.
- Ability to interpret results and make decisions on alloy chemistry adjustments within the scope of the role.
- Flexibility to work within a small team to provide 24/7 laboratory cover with the ability to work across the 3‑shift pattern.
- Meticulous with exceptional attention to detail.
- Able to work alone, self‑sufficiently, and independently prioritise tasks.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
37.5 hours per week, 3‑Shift (6am‑2pm / 2pm‑10pm / 10pm‑6am) WITH A 15% SHIFT PREMIUM
