Production Operative Wanted

We are seeking an additional full‑time production operative with experience in food production, factory work or machine operation. The role will be a temporary to permanent position and requires working rotating shift patterns Monday to Friday (40 hours per week).

Shift Patterns
  • Day Shift: 06:00 – 14:15
  • Afternoon Shift: 14:00 – 22:15
Hourly Pay Rates
  • Trial Shifts (up to 12 weeks): £12.90 per hour
  • Rotating

    Shifts:

    £13.03 per hour (regardless of the shift worked)

Successful candidates will complete paid trial shifts. Upon completion, the pay rate will increase to £13.03 per hour for any rotating shift worked.

As the site is located in a rural area, applicants must have a car or motorbike for commute. Cycling is acceptable for those who live within 30 minutes of the site in all weather conditions.

Job Summary

This role involves learning and operating a range of machinery and production processes. The ideal candidate will be eager to develop new skills and will engage with the training programme on the specialised production team.

Key responsibilities include completing daily production processes, lifting and handling products, operating and monitoring production equipment, and maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and compliance with health regulations.

Duties
  • Operate production machinery and work on a conveyor belt or production line, adhering to operational protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor temperature, pressure, and flow rates during the production process to guarantee product safety.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify malfunctions or maintenance needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of production data, including batch numbers, temperatures, and processing times.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to ensure products meet established quality standards.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation procedures for equipment and work areas.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in food processing or factory production.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions regarding ingredients, weights, and measures.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet production targets.
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Experience using food production or factory machinery is an advantage.
  • Availability to work the rotating shift patterns listed above.
