ELP - Machine Operative

Location: Haddington and Lammermuir Ward

Machine Operator East Lothian £14.00 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience) About the Role We're looking for a reliable and motivated Machine Operator to join a busy packhouse team in East Lothian. This is a hands-on role where you'll be responsible for operating machinery used to process and pack seasonal produce, helping to ensure high standards of quality, efficiency and safety.

Key Responsibilities Set up and operate packhouse machinery in line with production requirements Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments where required Carry out daily pre-start checks and report maintenance issues Conduct quality checks on raw produce and finished products Ensure all products and packaging meet traceability requirements Maintain clean, safe and organised work areas Monitor waste and ensure correct handling and labelling procedures Support production operatives with quality standards and best practices Work collaboratively with supervisors and colleagues to achieve production targets Follow all health, safety and hygiene procedures Working Hours Approximately 40 hours per week Shifts agreed with Packhouse Management Flexibility required, including occasional weekends and overtime during peak periods About You You'll be:
Detail-oriented with experience working in a production or manufacturing environment Reliable, punctual and a strong team player Able to communicate effectively in English Familiar with food hygiene and health & safety practices (training can be provided) Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Able to travel to the site, as public transport options may be limited What's in It for You?
