Mechanical Assembler – Long Term Contract
£23.18 per hour (Inside IR35). Overtime is available at enhanced rates.
Shift Patterns- Early Shift – Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm
- Late Shift – Monday to Wednesday, 2:00pm to Midnight;
Thursday, 2:00pm to 11:30pm;
Friday Off every week

As a Mechanical Assembler you will be responsible for the assembly, overhaul and refurbishment of critical rail components.
Responsibilities- Assemble and overhaul mechanical rolling stock components
- Repair and refurbish braking systems and bogie components
- Strip, inspect and rebuild a wide range of brake system products
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and effectively
- Follow established engineering procedures and quality standards
- Complete accurate maintenance and build records
We are looking for motivated Mechanical Assemblers who take pride in delivering high‑quality workmanship and can thrive in a fast‑paced engineering environment. Experience in rail, heavy engineering, automotive, aerospace, manufacturing or a similar mechanical background is desirable.
Essential Qualifications- Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
- Strong mechanical assembly, fitting or overhaul experience
- Excellent attention to detail
- Experience using hand tools and workshop equipment
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Understanding of safe working practices in a safety‑critical environment
- Ability to complete accurate documentation and records
- NVQ Level 2 in a mechanical discipline or equivalent experience
- Previous rolling stock, heavy engineering, manufacturing or automotive experience
