Position: Laminator (Wet Lay)

Location: Gosport
Rate/Salary: £21.00 per hour (Outside IR35 - Umbrella or Ltd Company)
Type: 6 Month Contract

The below job description will outline this position of: GRP Wet Lay Laminator
Typically, this person will be responsible for carrying out high-quality GRP wet lay laminating work on a variety of marine craft, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
HSB Technical's client is a well-established and respected business operating within the marine industry.
Duties and responsibilities of the Marine GRP Wet Lay Laminator:
- Carry out GRP wet lay laminating on marine vessels and components.
- Read and work from engineering drawings and laminating schedules.
- Prepare moulds and materials prior to laminating.
- Apply resins, glass matting and reinforcement materials to specification.
- Trim, finish and inspect completed laminates to ensure quality standards are met.
- Carry out repairs and modifications to existing GRP structures where required.
- Work safely in line with health and safety procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organised working environment.
- Work effectively as part of a production team to achieve project deadlines.
- Previous experience as a GRP Wet Lay Laminator within the marine, boat building or composite industry.
- Experience working with polyester and vinyl ester resin systems.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and laminating specifications.
- Good attention to detail with a focus on producing high-quality workmanship.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Positive attitude with a strong work ethic.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Experience working on commercial or military marine craft.
- Previous boat building or shipyard experience.
- Composite or laminating qualifications.
- Abrasive Wheels or Manual Handling certificates.
