ESMU Assembly Fitter

Location:

Cheltenham, Gloucestershire

The role:

We are seeking an assembly fitter to carry out assembly, testing, painting, and packaging of products to the required standard, whilst ensuring productivity and quality are not compromised.

You’ll be expected to engage with improvement initiatives and projects to enhance the product manufacturing process.

Key responsibilities:
  • Ensure company Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) policy is adhered to by yourself and others
  • Ensure production quality is maintained
  • Operate and set machines in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Work to assembly drawings and standard operating procedures to fulfil daily plans and targets.
  • Assemble/test/paint and pack of standard product range
  • Shot/bead blast cleaning
  • Basic paint spraying
  • Understand and comply with the Company Core Values
  • Engage, suggest and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and projects, as required
  • Flexible to complete other duties when required
  • Develop and drive your own personal development plan
Your skills:
  • Ability to understand and work to engineering drawings
  • Ability to work on daily plans and tasks using numeracy and literacy skills
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • Attention to detail to maintain high standards of quality
  • Aspiration to learn and develop in the role
  • Proactive and flexible approach
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently
  • Good organisational and time management skills
Desirable skills:
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Understanding of your commercial impact on the department
  • Understanding and application of health and safety practices
  • Problem solving skills
  • Basic experience in one of the following: MIG welding/paint spraying/hydro testing
  • Use of overhead cranes
  • Electrical NQV or equivalent experience
  • Shot/bead blast cleaning
