The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Process Operative / FLT Driver to join a busy and fast-paced manufacturing operation. This position offers a varied role involving material handling, stock movement, metal processing, and dispatch activities within a safety-focused environment.
The successful candidate will have previous warehouse experience, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to health and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading and unloading vehicles using a Counterbalance Forklift Truck.
- Safe operation of overhead cranes and lifting equipment.
- Completing all operational paperwork and pre-use inspections accurately.
- Processing materials to customer specifications.
- Packing and preparing finished metal products for dispatch.
- Following written procedures and work instructions.
- Maintaining high housekeeping standards in line with 5S principles.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
- Ensuring compliance with all company policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to achieve daily operational targets.
About You
Essential
- Previous experience within a warehouse, metals/manufacturing, or distribution environment.
- Valid Counterbalance FLT licence.
- Experience loading and unloading vehicles.
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong commitment to health, safety, and quality standards.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Desirable
- Experience operating overhead cranes and using lifting slings.
- Previous experience handling metals, industrial products, or chemicals.
- Knowledge of stock control and warehouse management processes.
- Understanding of 5S and continuous improvement principles.
