Toolmaker

Toolmaker | £50,000–£60,000 DOE + Bonus

A well-established manufacturer is looking for an experienced Toolmaker to keep production moving.

This is a proper hands-on toolroom role. You will make, repair and maintain press tools, jigs and fixtures, get stuck into breakdowns when they happen, and help reduce downtime on the shop floor.

The role

• Make, assemble and repair press tools, jigs and fixtures
• Strip, inspect, fault-find and rebuild tooling
• Carry out preventative and reactive tool maintenance
  
  Produce precision parts from engineering drawings
• Use manual mills, lathes and grinders
• Bench fit and assemble to tight tolerances
• Support tool trials and modifications
• Help production quickly when tooling goes down

What we’re looking for

• Proven toolmaking experience
• Strong press tool, jig or fixture background
• Confident reading drawings
• Manual machining and bench fitting skills
• Good fault-finding ability
• CNC would be useful, but is not essential

The package

• £50,000–£60,000 DOE
• Early finish Friday:
  Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm, Friday 7:30am–1:00pm
• Flexible hours where needed
• Performance-related Christmas bonus
